Awful early to be getting so late
Well past dark as we leave the gate
But, it’s not worth a 5:00 start
What, with how late it has been getting
Even that early, as we depart
The sun is already past setting
Meet at 5:45, Tuesday night
Head out at six, from the town forest lot
If you remember to recharge your light
We’ll say, “So long!” to those who forgot
